Almonte Paris-Roubaix @ Lanark County
May 5 all-day

Like it’s inspiration, the 30th Almonte Paris-Roubaix Cyclosportif mixes well paved roads with abominations. The route includes mud, gravel, sand, rocks, 3 woodlots and one switchback climb. The classic route is 80 kilometres. A shorter 40km option is also available and includes 3 woodlots. This is a cyclosportif ride, not a race as the roads are open to other users. There is no support on this ride. We recommend riders choose cycling equipment for its robustness, not its lightness. Any kind of bicycle may be used, although cyclocross bikes with large section road tires [at least 28mm] are the best choice. Tribars are not allowed. It is each rider’s personal responsibility to ensure that their bicycle is legal and safe for road use in Ontario. Riders must carry pump and changes/ repairs for at least two flats. A cell phone is an excellent item to carry for calling for help if necessary.

Note: This event is pre-registration only and is only open to OCA members. For license purchasing, please give a 2-3 week buffer from the time of purchase until the event. License confirmations will not guarantee participation. You must have a valid 2019 issued license in hand.

Jun 1 all-day

Welcome to the 2nd event of the EASTERN CANADA GRAVEL CUP p/b euro-sports, Ottawa’s endurance sports store. This second event of the series will be a great way to confirm whether all the winter training is finally paying off.  Additionally, the winners of this race will earn the coveted Canadian Gravel Championship Jersey. The competitive and sport courses feature challenging gravel and paved roads leading riders out of Wheelers Pancake House, around Lanark using the signature “forest access” road Ranger Camp, and finishing back at Wheelers. This course was designed to test rider’s fitness, skill and their ability to endure the continuous bursts of power required to roll over the pitchy terrain. This course is the best introduction possible to the single lane treed gravel and will really test the adventure seeker’s legs with it’s pitchy climbs and non-stop roller-coaster terrain.

Ontario Gravel Series #1: Eager Beaver 100 @ Duntroon, ON
Aug 10 all-day

Tentative – More details to follow!

The Race: Eager Beaver 100. This is the re-birth of the Eager Beaver 100 mountain bike race but with a new twist.

This is a 100 mile, 100k or 50k bicycle race/ride. That is it. It isn’t a road race or a mountain bike race or a fondo, or even a fondue. It is just a bike race/ride. With a lot of gravel.

Please note: Information is considered tentative until the necessary paperwork has been completed by the organizers. As more details are confirmed there will be more information on the calendar.

Ontario Gravel Series #2: El Bandito @ Brimacombe Ski Hill
Aug 24 all-day

Tentative – More details to follow!

El Bandito is back for 2019! Let’s be clear though, this will be a completely different course than the Eager Beaver. Great scenery, some challenging stuff and unique trails that you didn’t know were there await. As in 2018 there is a shorter gentler course option for those who think that having fun and enjoying scenery doesn’t have to involve untold pain and suffering. If this is you check out the 40k length which skips two of the meanest climbs on the EB70 course. (Don’t even think about the full Bandito course… people are still waking up in a cold sweat

Please note: Information is considered tentative until the necessary paperwork has been completed by the organizers. As more details are confirmed there will be more information on the calendar.
