OCA Para-Cycling Coach Announced

The Ontario Cycling Association is pleased to welcome Murray Solem as the Para-Cycling Development Coach.  Murray has been involved in cycling throughout his life as an athlete, mechanic, and now a coach.  He was a member of the Canadian National Para-Cycling Team for seven (7) years as a tandem pilot.  During this time Murray competed at many international level events on the road and track including the European Championships and the 2004 Paralympic Games. This experience combined with his NCCP coaching education will be a huge benefit to Ontario in growing the sport of para-cycling and developing high performance athletes.

In addition to coaching identified athletes, Murray will be working with other para-based provincial sport organizations  in recruiting new athletes and helping build capacity for para-cycling across the province.  In one of his first initiatives, Murray hopes to lead an inaugural Team Ontario at the Canadian Paracycling Championships.  Those interested in attending are asked to submit an expression of interest (Click Here).

An OCA email for Murray will be established shortly.  In the meantime, any questions can be directed to michael.suraci@ontariocycling.org
