The OCA would like to announce a few changes to the Ontario Criterium schedule of events coming up this summer.
We are disappointed to announce the cancelation of two events due to venue availability and municipal permitting, both of which were planned to take place in the month of August. The Tourism London O-Cup was scheduled to take place on the 6th of August and was slated to be the 7th O-Cup of the season. The Racetiming.ca Criterium was planned to take place on the 27th of August and was slated to be the 4th stop in the Ontario Criterium Series.
Now for the good news, the Ossington Criterium has worked closely with the OCA and is pleased to confirm that the event will once again take place in 2017, replacing the cancelled Racetiming.ca event as the 2nd stop in the Ontario Criterium Series! Racing will take place on the 22nd of July, on the downtown streets of Toronto Ontario. The event schedule will mirror the Ontario Cup format however is sanctioned as a Regional level event which means that no O-Cup points will be awarded.
The Ontario Criterium Series started off with a bang in Ottawa Ontario at the Preston Street Criterium however there are still 4 races left in the series. That means that the overall series prize purse of $4,000 is still up for grabs! This is of course on top of the $50,000 in prize money that will be handed out across all five events. Registration is now live for all four events so be sure to register today!
