The Ontario Cycling Association is offering a Provincial Level C commissaire course for Road on Saturday, January 21, 2017 and Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 170 Booth St. Ottawa, ON (same building complex as The Ottawa Bicycle Club office). Attendance is required on both days to complete the course.
This introductory level course will cover the structure of the sport of cycling, roles of the commissaires’ panel, basic road racing principles, types of road events and skills required to work an event at the Provincial C level. In addition to attending the course and passing a written test on the second day, participants are required to work three road events as a Technical Assistant in order to be certified as Provincial Level C.
This course is also beneficial for other aspects of road cycling. Director Sportifs must take the course as part of the Director designation. Coaches can better guide their riders with the knowledge they will learn from the Commissaire aspects of the sport. As well, anybody who wants to become involved in race organization will find this course to provide very useful skills.
If you have any questions or wish to register, please contact Jen Eaton, Sport Coordinator at email@example.com, by Monday, January 9th. Spots are limited.
