Ontario Cup Events

Introduction
For riders who enjoy challenging courses and competing against the best riders from across the province, the Ontario Cup Road Series is for you.  The Ontario Cup Road Series is 7 events in length.  Events are typically scheduled monthly and combines traditional events on the OCA calendar with a blend of time trial(s), criterium(s), road race(s) and stage race(s).

The OCA O-Cup selection process results in only the best events becoming part of the  Ontario Cup Road Series.  Only a diversified dedicated rider will be crowned  Ontario Cup Road Series Champion.

O-Cup riders are categorized by age, except in the Senior Men and Master Men (35+) categories.  The Senior Men category is split into 4 categories with the Senior 1/2 Men racing together.  The Senior 3 men earn upgrade points at events to move up to to the Senior 1/2 race.  Senior 4 men earn points to upgrade to Senior 3. Similar is the Master Men (35+) whom are spill into three categories, with Master 2 riders earn upgrade points at all regional events to move up to Master 1. Master 3 riders earn points to upgrade to Master 2.

Who can Participate?
Riders who are at least 10 years of age as of December 31, 2011 can participate. Ages 10-16 can participate in the Youth Road Series, and ages 15+ can participate in the Ontario Cup Road Series. Upgrades for U15 riders to race U17 will be considered on a case by case basis.
