The 2017 Youth Track Development Series will be drawing to a close with the Series Finale being held this Saturday at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre. Fan favourites, Gord Singleton & Chris Kiriakopoulos, have been confirmed to announce at this season’s finale!
Over the course of four races, riders ages 9-18 have been competing in ability based categories, a change that has resulted in never-before-seen participation numbers. With an average of 80 riders at each race, youth track cycling is alive and well in Ontario! With a variety of events; points races, standing 250’s, elimination races, longest laps, and scratch races, there was plenty of opportunity for riders to try new events and continually improve over the season.
Registration will close Wednesday February 23rd at midnight. Anyone between the ages of 9 & 18 as of December 31, 2017 can participate provided they have the following:
- A 2017 Citizen Permit or UCI Licence
- Access to a Track Bicycle
Registration can be made available HERE
The day is packed with many exciting races and will be very spectator friendly. Come on down to celebrate the end to a very successful Youth Track Development Series season and cheer on our young track athletes!
