There are licenses for all cycling enthusiasts that are tailored to all skills and abilities.  All license periods are from the date of purchase to December 31 of that year. (ex. March 5, 2009-December 31, 2009).

Once you have decided on which licence best fits your needs please click on any of the below licences for membership forms.

Club Member
This category applies to individuals belonging to an OCA affiliated club who do not hold a Race Licence or Citizen Permit. The Club Membership program is a way for club members to gain access to the OCA's sport injury and liability insurance coverage during their club events. Club Members do not have a vote at the OCA's Annual General Meeting, nor are they eligible for provincial upgrade points.  Club Memberships can only be purchased through your
local club.

Citizen Permit

The Citizen Permit is purchased by riders who wish to compete only in Ontario (excluding Nationals, Canada Cup or World Cup events held within the Province). This is strictly a provincial license that will allow you to participate in OCA sanctioned events.  This licence is NOT granted by the CCA or the UCI, but still includes all the Membership Benefits aside from racing nationally and internationally. Domestic Licences are available to BMX riders, but are only valid at their home track.

can register at any OCA permitted Citizen Event
can register at designated categories at Regional Events
cannot hold a Citizen Permit and UCI licence simultaneously

UCI Licence (Road/MTB-XC,DH, 4X/Track/Cyclo-Cross/BMX)

Those who wish to compete out of the province or at national and international events held within Ontario must become licensed members under the CCA/UCI license system. Licensed racing members receive all of the
benefits of OCA membership. These licenses are granted by the Canadian Cycling Association, which in turn is affiliated with the International cycling body, Union Cycliste Internationale. This means that CCA/UCI Licence holders will be able to race anywhere in the world, subject to certain conditions.  The Ontario Cycling Association issues the License on behalf of the CCA & UCI.

ABILITY BASED ROAD RACING RULES AND REGULATIONS

General Member (NON-RACING MEMBERSHIP)

receive a vote at the OCA Annual General Meeting (AGM)
is still required to purchase UCI Licence, Citizen Permit or One-Event Racing Permit to register in OCA events
must complete OCA Membership Application Form

CAN-BIKE Member

must be a certified Can-Bike Instructor
membership is required to remain an accredited Can-Bike Instructor
must complete OCA Membership Application Form

OMBI Member

must be a certified OMBI Instructor
membership and up-to date first aid training is required to remain an accredited OMBI Instructor
must complete OCA Membership Application Form

One Event Racing Permit (must pay at event)

OCA Citizen Event
riders wishing to register in an OCA Citizen Permitted Event who are not a:
   - Citizen Permit holder
   - UCI licence holders (i.e. licensed member of the OCA)must purchase a One-Event Racing Permit at the event
can purchase 3 One-Event Racing Permits in total at permitted events throughout the season  (including Regional Events)
not all citizen events will be selling One-Event Racing Permits (please contact organizer for details)
OCA Regional Event (any event where upgrade points are available - i.e. Ontario Cup)
riders wishing to participate in an OCA Regional Permitted Event who are not UCI licence holders, or Citizen Permit holders under the age of 17 (as of December 31, 2009) must purchase an One-Event Racing Permit
can only purchase 3 One-Event Racing Permits in a season (including Citizen events)
must purchase a UCI licence to participate in 4th Regional Event
can only purchase 1 One-Event Racing Permit for Downhill
the Try-An-O-Cup event at all Ontario Cup events is a citizen event
