The CAN-BIKE safe cycling skills program is the standard for bicycle education in the province of Ontario, and across Canada. The premise of the courses is that a bicycle is safest when it is operated as a vehicle on the road. Because the bicycle is smaller, lighter and slower than other vehicles, a cyclist must develop skills that allow for assertive, but safe and responsible behaviour. The CAN-BIKE Courses teach defensive riding skills, traffic analysis skills, and collision avoidance techniques. They also provide the basics on safe equipment, and a basic bike inspection. Regardless of your experience, CAN-BIKE will make your cycling more effective, and give you a greater sense of confidence and control in traffic.
