In order for an event to appear on the OCA calendar, it must receive an "Event Permit" (formally called "Sanction") through the Ontario Cycling Association.
Next year's Event Permit Applications are mailed to all current OCA affiliated clubs and organizers in October. Other interested organizers can contact the OCA to add their names to the mailing list. For those who can not wait for the mail, the Event Permit Application is also available on our website.
The last Saturday in November is traditionally the OCA's Date Setting meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to finalize any date conflicts between organizers. Attendance at this meeting is highly recommended for all MTB organizers. Organizers can submit applications after the Date Setting meeting however they may not receive their preferred dates as successful applications received before or at date setting are accommodated first.
The Ontario Cycling Association only considers applications with the appropriate fees attached for acceptance from organizers in good standing. The OCA will review each application before granting a permit. Simply submitting an application and fee does not guarantee a permit from the OCA.
An organizer must be a member of the OCA for the year of their event via UCI licence, Citizen Permit, General Member or OCA affiliated club member. An organizer must also be in good standing with the OCA.
