Youth Track Development Series – Skill Session Volunteer Opportunity for U19’s

The OCA is looking for 4 to 6 U19 athletes to lead a track cycling skill session for other Youth Track Series riders at the next Youth Track Development Series Race  on January 14th.

The skill session will consist of multiple drills aimed towards building a rider’s bike handling, balance, ability to look ahead, and riding in bunches. This is an opportunity to earn some high school volunteer hours, contribute to Youth Cycling, and gain experience. The skill session will be held January 14th at 2pm, prior to the start of racing.

Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age. Those who are interested must fill out a volunteer application form. Responsibilities and requirements are outlined below:

  • Introduce and encourage the concepts of fair play and good sportsmanship to other Youth Series Riders
  • Have a knowledge and understanding of track cycling
  • Instruct track cycling skills as set out by the OCA
  • Willing and eager to lead and demonstrate by example
