15th Annual National Coaches Week

Ontario Cycling Association Celebrates National Coaches Week September 19th-27th

National Coaches Week is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the impact coaches have on athletes. Inspirational and wise, the lessons taught by coaches extend far beyond sport and help shape us into who we are today. With events held across the country to celebrate coaching, National Coaches Week provides coaches with the recognition they deserve for the time they devote to ensuring Canadians live an active, healthy lifestyle.

A big part of National Coaches Week are the coaching courses that are offered. Throughout the week the Coaches Association of Ontario and Provincial Sport Organizations are providing discounted or FREE professional development webinars, sport specific coaching courses and free Q&A sessions with sports experts.

The course will be delivered online on September 21st and 23rd. The Let’s Ride! Community Initiation is one of two coaching courses necessary to complete your Community Initiation Certification (previously NCCP level 1). This workshop provides information on ethical coaching, understanding participants and their needs, basic practice planning, safety and equipment. The second part Basic Cycling Skills, is an on-bike skills course we will offer in the coming weeks.
