The 2017 Youth Track Development Series came to a close with the Series Finale held this Saturday at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre.
Over the course of four races, riders ages 9-18 have been competing in ability based categories – a change that has resulted in never-before-seen participation numbers. With an average of 80 riders at each race, youth track cycling in Ontario is growing! With a variety of events – points races, standing 250’s, elimination races, longest laps, win & outs, and scratch races – there was plenty of opportunity for riders to try new events and continually improve over the season.
Results from the Finale can be found HERE. A Youth Track Series Personal Best Sheet can be found on the results page detailing all riders personal bests over the course of the series. Please check back this afternoon as the sheet is being updated with Saturday’s results. Congratulations to all who improved over the course of the season!
The Youth Track Development Series will return in 2018 with the first race expected to be held in December 2017. As we transition to road season stay tuned as track dates will be announced soon!
Participants, parents, and coaches are invited to complete a short survey regarding the Track Series. The OCA thanks you in advance for completing the survey and values your feedback in continuing to build the series! Survey can be found HERE.
