2018 Tour di Via Italia Cash Prize List Updates

The Tour di Via Italia organizing committee and the OCA are pleased to announce significant changes to the cash prize list for the 2018 edition of the TdVI.

This change came about through discussions with Ontario Cycling’s CEO Jim Crosscombe and TDVI race director Pietro DiPonio on how to increase participation in the women’s fields at the event.  The cash prize pool for the Women’s race will now be $6,100 and the payout will be 15 deep – matching the Elite Men’s race.

“Women’s racing is important to our event and matching prize money is only one component. We doubled the size of our women’s field last year but feel there is much more potential. We anticipate further changes in the future to fully realize that potential.”  said DiPonio.

The 2018 TDVI is the 60th anniversary of the race, managed by volunteers through a not for profit entity and is an important historical event on the Ontario Cycling Associations calendar.  This years edition is also the OCA’s Criterium Championship.
