Four riders from Ontario will be looking to defend their leads as the Canadian Junior Virtual Cycling Series kicks off Phase 2 this week.
Carson Mattern (U17 Men), Dylan Baker (U17 Women), Dylan Bibic (Junior Men) and Skye Pellerin (Junior Women) currently sit atop their respective divisions. These four will have a challenge right off the start in Phase 2 as they compete on the well known Bowness Road Criterium. This short but technical route features multiple twists and turns that will rival a real-life criterium.
While the races in Phase 2 will continue to be held on virtual version of Canadian roads, the series now shifts to a bi-weekly format with races conducted at 12:00pm EST on Thursdays. There will still be race recon group rides each week but those have moved to 6:30pm on Tuesday nights. The changes are in response to feedback received via athlete surveys.
There will also be another draw for a 4iiii Power Meter at the end of Phase 2.
