OCA Rising Star and Excellence Camp Assessment Camp – November 18, 2017

The OCA will be hosting a general assessment day on November 18th for all youth track athletes [age eligible for the 2018 U17/U19 Canadian Track Championships].  A morning session will have athletes complete a 500m standing start effort followed by basic on-track skills and drills.  In the afternoon session, athletes will complete a 1500m effort, followed again by basic skills and drills [time permitting].  The purpose is to get early-season athlete times leading into the first Youth Development Series and O-Cup events and to assist with upcoming camp selections.

Location: Mattamy National Cycling Centre [Milton Velodrome]

Time: Morning session 10:30am – 12:30pm [arrive by 9:30am]; Afternoon session 2:00 – 4:00pm [arrive by 1:00pm]

There is no cost to participate.  However, registration must be completed by November 10th at https://ccnbikes.com/#!/events/oca-high-performance-track-camp-1

Please note:

  • All athletes must hold a 2017 UCI Track License or Citizen Permit
  • All athletes must be either certified or have started certification on the Milton track and must be comfortable performing efforts [please contact the OCA with any questions]
  • Efforts will be hand-timed and although athletes should strive to perform well, this is not a final selection for camps/programs
  • Coaches will not be permitted to coach on the apron during the trials
  • Athletes are permitted to use TT bars if they are comfortable do so; standard wheels only
  • Gearing should comply with U17/U19 Canadian Championship regulations
