It is with great honour that the Ontario Cycling Association, in collaboration with the Newmarket Eagles, announces the creation of the Tony Osborne Memorial Youth Fund.
Named in recognition of the late Tony Osborne, the Youth Fund’s main purpose is to aid, in various capacities, in the development of young cyclists within the province.
Well known within the cycling community, Tony Osborne was an enthusiastic promoter of cycling and always encouraged new cyclists to take up the sport. After opening Eagles Cycles in Newmarket, Tony co-founded the Newmarket Eagles Cycling Club, and with his help, the club hosted the inaugural event in the OCA’s Youth Road Cycling Series. He was also a passionate competitor, continuing to race at a high level into his 80’s, even earning bronze medals at the 2020 Provincial Track Championships.
To reduce cost barriers related to cycling programs the OCA relies heavily on grants, sponsorship and donations. 100% of all donations towards the Tony Osborne Memorial Youth Fund will go towards subsidizing youth programming costs.
All donations will be eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
